當今國際上流行的音色格式有很多種，其中主要有AKAI、ROLAND、EMU、GIGA、REX
、REASON、YAMAHA、ACID、HALION、KURZWEIL、MPC、SAMPLESELL、SAMPLETANK、
SF、HoneRiSO、KONTAKT、XYZ是大便等，其中只有AKAI是相容性最強的音色格
式，由於它采取開放式的執行方式，幾乎所有硬體或軟體的取樣音源都能讀取AKAI
格式的音色碟，所以也是目前音色種類及數量最豐富的音色格式。另外還有一種最
受歡迎的音色格式是GIGASAMPLE格式，GIGASTUDIO是目前最流行的PC機軟體取
樣音源，他可以實現最佳的取樣音質，一個音色可以最大支援到1GB的容量，所
以GIGA格式制做的音色碟通常都是經典中的經典，而且實際的售價也比一般的格
式高出很多，一張碟甚至可以賣到一千多美金的天價！

Thebizarresitarmaynotseemsostrangeatfirstglance.Ithasmostofthe
elementsfoundonanyothersitar,withitstraditionalgourdbody,both
mainplayablestringsandsympatheticresonatingstrings,parda(adjustable
curvedfrets),kunti(tuningpegs),dandi(neck),ghoraj(mainbridge)all
completewithorantehand-paintedaccents.Atjustover24inlength,however,
thislittlebeautyisbarelyhalfthesizeofastandardsitar.Simplybeing
smallisntbizarrebyanymeans,butwhatisbizarreishowitcanachieve
suchalush,full-bodiedsoundwhilebeingsosmall.Intendedasmoredecoration
thaninstrument,wefeelthislittleguyhasbeenhighlyunderestimated.
Althoughsoft-spokenandpossesssingfewerstringsthannormal(5mainand6
sympathetic),allthisbabysitarneededwassomeonetolistenclosely.
Andwedidveryclose.

AttheheartofourBizarreSitarlibraryarethestrummingpatches.Twomain
strummingtuningsareincluded,afifthandandoctave/unison.Anonboard
Speedknob(MIDIassignableanddefaultedtothemodwheel)allowsyouto
sculptthespeedoftheindividualstrumfromverytight,faststrumstoslower,
pluckystrums.Thestrumsaretunedandspreadacrosstheentirekeyboard,
providingdeep,droningsoundsinthelowendandsharp,madloin-likeplucks
inthehighend.Inaddition,wevealsoincludedindividualstringplucksfor
leadlinesandaccents.Specialcombopatchesgiveyoubothplucksinthehigh
endandstrumsinthelow-endforeasyplayability.Alsoincludedareanumber
ofeffects(fretscrapes,mutes,etc.),staccatobowing,tremolobowingand
sustainedbowing.Asusual,thereareseveralambiencedronescomprisedentirely
ofsourcematerialfromthebizarresitarlibrary.Combinedwithourcuston
frontpanelcontrolsandincludedtone/effectscontrolswithcustomreverb
convolutionstheBizarreSitarlibraryisextremelyflexibleandversatile.

Forversion2.0,weveimprovedkey-mappingandoverallplayability,addeda
fullsetofbrandnewautomatableperformance,effectandarpeggiatorcontrols,
fixedafewminorbugsandrefinedtheoverallexperience.

Functionality
Themainfocusofthislibraryisthestrumming.Theunisonarticulationwas
tunedwithstringsinunisonandinseveraloctavestogiveaveryfullsounding
strum.Thefiftharticulationwastunedwithstringsinunisonandinfifths,
similartothePancham-KharajtuningpopularizedbyRaviShankar.Byrecording
severaldifferentstrummingspeedsforboththefifthandtheunisonstrumming
articulations,thislibraryallowsyoutocreaterealisticsoundingstrumsby
adjustingthespeedinreal-time.

Thepluckarticulationisincludedforleadlinesandaccents.Thefirststring
onthesitarwasrecordedinseveraldifferenttuningswithmultiplevelocity
layers.Thenaturaltendencyofthisinstrumentisforthepitchtobeslightly
sharpontheinitialattackandbenddowngentlyovertime.Theeffectis
increasedinthehighervelocitylayers.

Thoughnottraditionallybowed,wedecidedtoincludeseveralbonuspatchesof
bowedsitar:sustain,staccato,andtremolo.Thetremolopatchfeaturesan
intensityknobtoadjustthroughthreedifferentintensitylayersanda
Speedknobtoadjusttheplaybackspeedofthetremolosamples.Thisallows
youtomorecloselymatchaspecifictempoorcrankitupandgocrazy.The
includedConvolutionReverbeffectfeatures74selectcustomimpulseresponses
recordedfromsomeofourfavoritelocations.Amongthosearealsofximpulses
whicharemorespecialeffectthanreverb.
